By 1965 I knew the inside of my local Honda shop at least as well as my own bedroom. After all, my best buddy had an S90 and I lusted for a Honda to replace my Yamaha. Imagine my surprise when I saw this bike that I had no idea ever existed. It would be like my mother asking me about the fireplace in my bedroom that I had no recall of. The C200 was a transition bike that morphed into the CA (Dream) series. I owned a CA 72 and remember it well, if not fondly…
The 1964 Honda C200 used an 89.6 CC air cooled single cylinder cast iron pushrod motor (not the aluminum SOHC cam unit of the S90) that produced 6.5 HP through a 4 speed transmission for a top speed of 53MPH. ¼ mile time was 29 seconds with reported fuel mileage was over 125 MPG. Weight dry was 185 LBS.
This 1964 Honda C200 is in Council Bluffs, Iowa and is listed as a 2100 mile refreshed survivor. The listing has an impressive list of reproduction items that have been replaced and attended to. It looks to be very complete. The bike has a Buy It Now price of $1,500
