Introduced in September 1957, the Ducati 100 Sport was inspired by the Gran Sport (also known as the Marianna, a dominant racer of the time) and it featured a beautiful blue and silver paint scheme that has been replicated on future Ducatis as a tribute.
This hard-to-find bike paired a 98cc bevel-gear driven SOHC engine with a 4-speed transmission and it was popular with riders because it was cheap and nimble. This example (VIN: DM250748) was imported to the US from Europe in 2012 after having had an “older restoration”. It was last run in 2012 and was put it dry storage afterwards. The seller notes that the ‘chrome is tired, but overall the bike is very presentable and will make a nice addition to a collector or rider. ‘
