Here’s a lovely Ducati 250 Scrambler that had an ‘engine out’ restoration in 2013 – the engine was rebored and got a new Borgo piston. After the restoration, the bike went on two test rides and was then drained of gas and placed in the seller’s collection in 2014. It looks good, but may need a little love before it’s ready for the road.
As a ’65, this is one of the narrow-case bikes that all started with a Ducati Diana that importer Michael Berliner converted for dirt track racing. It is of course the genesis of the new Scrambler that Ducati is now selling, though that was inspired more by the second generation, wide-case bikes.
