Right before AMF acquired Harley-Davidson, they entered the snowmobile market under the Ski-Daddler name. Once they had HD’s name, they decided to drop Ski-Daddler for the Harley name, which of course resonated much more with consumers. It didn’t really matter what the name was, though – after 7 years the snowmobile was discontinued.
These scoots had 398cc or 440cc two stroke engines. For more on the Harley Snowmobile, check out this feature from the National Motorcycle Museum.
This example has the bigger 440cc engine, as well as plenty of new parts like the rollers, tracks, belt, and drive belt. With that said, it will need a battery (and it could use a new seat cover) before it’s ready to go. Find it for sale in Reading, Pennsylvania for $1,200 here on Craigslist.
