1980 Ducati 900 MHR – Mike Hailwood Replica with Bonus Bikes

Post-Listing Update: After 23 bids on eBay, bidding on this MHR got up to $15,445, not good enough to meet reserve.

The Ducati 900 MHR (Mike Hailwood Replica) was built to commemorate Hailwood’s success in the 1978 Isle of Man TT. The bike was initially produced solely for homolgation reasons –
just 200 were built in 1979. It was so popular that Ducati kept selling them – eventually about 7,100 were sold. Basics include a 72 horsepower, 863cc V-Twin with a 5-speed gearbox and a top speed of 137 miles per hour.

The seller of this bike (VIN: DM860SS 900355) correctly points out that the earlier run of the MHRs are a bit more special (and they weren’t imported to the US), though I still think the asking BIN is optimistic. Still, this example (#355) looks great and it’s been recently brought back to life after some time in storage. It got rebuilt brake master cylinders, brake calipers, and carbs, and the seller says the bike “performs brilliantly”.

And if that wasn’t cool enough for you, the seller is also offering two other fantastic Italians…just weirdly not with separate listings. You’ll still need to click above to get in touch with the seller, but he also has (in his words):

– Condition is excellent, with just one small blemish on the exhaust system

1982 Bimota KB1 series three
– Owned over 20 years.
– The 1200cc engine has had over 6000 German Marks spent on upgrades

The NCR definitely deserves it’s own listing, but what are you going to do?
