Post Sale Update: This K2 sold for $4,250 after 13 bids on eBay in Helotes, Texas.

Moto Morini’s heyday with production bikes was in the 70s with the legendary 3 1/2, but they weren’t able to retain the magic and after a decline in the 80s the company was sold to Cagiva. During that slide, they released a spiritual successor with top notch components and a dry weight of just 330 pounds. It was called the 350 K2, and it the styling screams “designed in the 80s” more than just about anything else built in the decade.

The K2 was built for just three years (1984-1986) and it was available in two paint options: red with silver accents on a red frame, or silver with red accents on a black frame. The 344cc air-cooled four stroke motor produces 35 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 20 lb-ft of torque. For perspective, consider 30+ years of progress with Yamaha’s new R3. That has a 325cc four-stroke parallel-twin which produces 42 horsepower and 21.8 lb-ft of torque. The motor is fed by two 25mm Dell’Orto VHBZ carbs and exhausts through a LaFranconi pipe. The drivetrain is enclosed in a double cradle frame with some great components bolted to it like Marzocchi suspension and Grimeca triple disc brakes.

This example (VIN: ZLMAK3339EB24096) has 8,293 miles and it’s been with the current owner since 2013. It’s offered on a clean Texas title and it’s said to be “very original apart from cam drive belt, tires and battery.” Everything is said to work with just a few minor chips in the paintwork.
