Harley engines in a chassis that could handle – that was the dream behind Buell ownership. Hope you like orange!
The Cyclone was introduced in 1997 and Buell ended production of the model in 2002. It split the difference between teh S3 Thunderbolt semi-tourer and the S1 Lightning sportbike. It was equipped with a 94 horsepower/1,203cc Harley engine, 5-speed transmission, Thunderstorm heads, lightened flywheel, steel braided brake lines, and Showa suspension. Motorcycle.com called it their ‘preferred’ Buell of the time, as well as the smoothest. This was partially due to the face that it still had a 40mm Keihin CV carb, while other models got Buell’s first (and slightly glitchy) attempt at fuel injection. This example (VIN: 4MZKS11J123300353) has just under 4,000 miles and it’s claimed to start, ride, and sound amazing. In addition to the Thunderstorm heads and other stock goodies, this bike has aftermarket bar end mirrors, turn signals, and flywheel/sidecovers. Note that the seller says he is overly critical and that he thinks the mechanical condition is a 10 out of 10 while the cosmetic condition is a 8 out of 10.
