Ending Soon – 2006 BMW HP2 Enduro

I know I haven’t written a lot of these, but I’ve already noticed a trend. I’ll see a bike online, and think to myself, “for the right person, this could be a hell of an opportunity”. I think this bike is certainly one of those cases. Who is that person? I think it’s someone who’s always wanted to use one of these bikes as intended, but didn’t want to take a $20,000 dirtbike offroad. So if you’re someone that’s always wanted to ride one of these on the Trans Am Trail, maybe this is a good blank canvas. The reason being this one that doesn’t have a clear title. The odometer was replaced under warranty in 2008 because water kept seeping into it. The bike has 36,460 miles on it, but reads 9,235 miles. Their loss, your gain. You’ll also notice it only comes with the motard wheels on it, and the current owner traded it in for a 9T, which begs the question, has it ever actually been off road? No matter, I’m sure it would be more than happy to venture beyond the pavement for the right person.

BMW HP2 Enduro - Front LeftI’ve always loved this bike. It’s not the bike itself, as I’ve only ridden dirtbikes a handful of times. While I’ve dreamed of the Trans Am Trail, I think it was more the idea of a BMW Skunkworks that got me excited. In fact, I remember watching the Erzberg video when these came out.

Any bike that can stand this kind of punishment is a winner in my book. Now that the boxer has gone liquid cooled, would it even be possible for BMW to build another bike like this? I’m guessing it would weigh too much. Sad. You can find this bike at Max BMW in Connecticut. Current bidding is at $8,100 with the reserve not yet met
