The BMW HP2 Sport is one of the rarest bikes from the last few decades of BMW bikes. It certain ways, it was a tough sell. Loosely based on the R1200S, this was a very pricey and exclusive sportbike that put down less power than its competitors thanks to the limits of the venerable boxer engine.
With that said, one of my favorite feelings on a bike is the sideways torque you get at idle and low speeds from a boxer engine when you give it a crack of the throttle, and 128 horsepower pushing 392 pounds of bike does not make for a slow bike. This specific BMW HP2 Sport (VIN: WB1046801AZS70215) has 2,199 miles and is #215. Just 10 of these bikes were brought to the states in 2010 (though more were imported in prior years). This example comes with the optional ABS and is completely stock. The reserve is at $18k, so it’s up to you to decide if that’s a good deal for a great bike.
