Post-Sale Update: After 35 bids on eBay, this Suzuki RG500 Gamma sold for a whopping $36,900!
Suzuki’s RG500 Gamma is one of the defining bikes of the 1980’s. Somehow, there’s now one for sale with just 30 miles on the odometer.
This is an odd ad – it’s a classic bike for sale from a car dealer with no feedback on eBay. They don’t give any information on the bike, and it almost seems like they got it in on some odd trade and don’t know what to do with it. Unfortunately, they do seem to know what it’s worth, as it still hasn’t hit reserve at over $20,000. Little bit more on the bike, if you’re not familiar – built as a repli-racer for the Gamma GP bike (where Suzuki won 7 consecutive manufacturer titles in the 500cc class), this bike pumped out 94 horsepower and weighed just 340 pounds dry.
This specific Suzuki RG500 Gamma (VIN: JS1HM31A5G2100135) does not come with much information, but we’re told that it has a Minnesota title and you’ll get plenty of spare parts, including the manuals. If you’re willing to take a risk with an uncooperative seller, or you live nearby enough to check it out, this bike could make you very happy as a collector. But when part of the appeal is how low the mileage is, are you going to be comfortable adding to that minuscule number of 30?
