KTM Basel is a Swiss dealer of Team Orange that created a great piece of kit called the Quest. Designed to turn a KTM 690 Enduro R into the ultimate adventure tourer, it packs all kinds of features – including 8.5 gallons of gas – into a bike that looks like it should be racing Dakar.
Because the Enduro R isn’t too thirsty, some riders say they’ve been able to get 500 miles of range on-road with their Quest-equipped bikes. In addition to the large amount of fuel, you get better wind protection with a navigation tower, upgraded lights, and a slimmer/taller seat from the Selle Dalla Valle. For more information, check out this introduction from Allroad Touring or this video from KTM Basel set to Wolfman’s Joker and The Thief:
This example has been setup for a 200 pound rider plus gear and has a lot of farkles – Woody’s Wheels with Excel A60s, Talon hubs, and SS spokes, custom carbon fiber skid plate/rally fender/tank guards/clutch cover, Black Dog Cycle Works pegs, Scotts damper, Wings exhaust, Akrapovic EU map, Rigid Industries lighting, a Tractive 300mm rear shock, and more. The bike has 2,600 miles and has apparently only been down once, which seems impossible to me.
