Post Listing Update: After 3 bids on eBay, this Seeley got up to $16,600 but that wasn’t enough to meet reserve.

After AMC went out of business in ’63, Colin Seeley bought all the tooling and spares. He then took the famed Golden Eagle and built custom frames to create Seeley G50 specials.

Eventually, TGA took over (and you can still get bikes from them today). Mk II bikes have been upgraded with a Titchmarsh chassis, Walmsley G50 motor, and 6 speed PGT gearbox.

Seeley Matchless G50 - Cockpit

This example was built in ’98 and then ran a few AHRMA races. The motor is claimed to have ‘numerous special parts’ but they are not detailed. The sale includes build photos, lots of notes on the current setup, receipts showing a cost to build of $33,000 and a previous sale price of $23,000. In addition to or in place of the usual build specs, this has a Megacycle cam, Quaife 6-speed tranny, Newby clutch assembly, Kosman triple clamps, Ceriani GP forks, Ceriani 230mm front hub, Akront rims, Tomaselli clipons, and plenty more.
