This might be one of the most interesting bikes I’ve had the opportunity to feature on this site – a BMW R60/6 Polizei. I’m obsessed with police bikes, especially those that have some age to them, and this beautiful German does not disappoint.
The base /6 was good for about 40 horsepower and a top speed just over 100 miles per hour. The Glaeser fairing on this police bike would actually help bump that latter number up, if you were so inclined. It comes well equipped with the original radio, lights, dual tone siren, and even the original police-spec Koni shocks. Originally a Federal Border Police (Bundesgrenzpolizei) bike that probably served along the Dutch border, it somehow escaped destruction and made it to a museum after being lightly recommissioned for display.
This specific BMW R60/6 Polizei is being offered from the personal collection of a seller I’ve had great experiences with the past – and as such as I have complete faith in this bike. Mileage is unknown, but here’s a video of it being started and featuring those great police lights:
