In 2009, Aprilia offered two paint schemes for the Tuono Factory – one dominated by white, the other dominated by black. I think the “Black Dream” scheme looked better, except it did not have the beautiful lion’s head on the tank. This seller (a MSF instructor) has fixed it with a custom paint job that gives the Black Dream paint with the lion’s head – Aprilia should have done this from the factory!
The “Factory” in the model name means this was an uprated version of what was already one of the best naked bikes out there. With upgrades such as fully adjustable Ohlins suspension front and rear, forged aluminum wheels, and extensive carbon fiber, this bike was possibly as good as it got from Aprilia – though you had to pay a $4,000 premium over the regular Tuono for the privilege. This example is claimed to be perfect and need nothing, the gas tank and fuel pump were recently replaced under warranty. Highlights of the goodies include a Puig tall windscreen, Evoluzione tail tidy, Arrow carbon fiber exhaust, Woodcraft frame sliders, Pazzo levers, Ohlins shock set up by Traxxion Dynamics, Power Commander V, and plenty more.
