Post Listing Update: This Darmah did not meet reserve with 19 bids up to $8,300.

The Ducati SD (Sport Desmo) thankfully brought commercial success after the flop of the 860 GT. The Italian frim then evolved the line with a sportier version called the Darmah, which featured an ionic black/gold paint scheme as well the distinctive tiger image on the sidecovers..

The air-cooled twin produced 74 horsepower and was capable of a top speed of 115 mph. Fuel consumption was higher than we would have guessed, at 41 mpg. It gave up some power to its Japanese competition, but it also weighed considerably less. You got plenty of high quality components, like Brembo discs front and rear, Ceriani front forks, and the pricey (and distinctive) gold Campagnolo wheels.

This specific example has 9,020 miles and it’s claimed to ‘run incredibly strong’. The bike is being offered by the third owner who has had it since 2010 – the previous owner had it since 1990 and did not put the bike on the road during those 20 years. The seller has put 1,000 miles on it in the last 5 years and says it’s in very good condition, it’s just not a show piece.
