Post-Listing Update: This Suzuki X6 Hustler did not attract any bids at $3,500.
The Suzuki X6 Hustler, also called the T20 Super Six, was an instant hit with riders who loved high performance engines in lightweight bikes. The 247cc engine was capable of hitting over 100hp/liter (about 29 horsepower), and the bike was packed with plenty of technology, including the first 6-speed transmission used in a production motorcycle!
Weighing just 316 pounds, the Hustler was capable of hitting over 90 miles per hour. The advanced technology helped boost sales – at its peak, Suzuki was selling 5,000 X6’s a month. Oddly reminiscient of the Honda CB450 Black Bomber featured yesterday, the Hustler lasted for 3 years and a total of 35,500 were sold. In future years, GT and Scrambler versions were also added as options. Jay Leno, car/bike collector extraordinaire, owns a X6 Hustler and talks about how this bike was the best thing out there when he was in 8th grade here on Jay Leno’s Garage. The video is just 6 minutes long and well worth it, but if you just want to see it on the road, fast forward to about 3:15. It really does sound great – Jay calls the sound “bees in a coffee can.”
This specific Suzuki X6 Hustler (VIN: 1749114221930635T) has just 6,500 miles and looks great. Not much information is given, but it looks to be a fine example of a bike that’s becoming a collector’s item.
