When the Dart was introduced, Moto Morini was owned by Cagiva – at the time the latter had no mid-sized bike in their model range. They decided to remedy that by taking the frame of their Freccia 125, and then shoving in a Morini 350cc V-Twin. It’s odd to see an air-cooled engine surrounded in plastic, but hey, this was the 80s.
Initial Dart models were 350cc but Morini eventually moved to a 400cc bike, which is much harder to find. Total production between both displacements is approximately 900. The 350cc engine used in this bike was actually quite similar to the engine made famous in the 3 1/2 Sport, with the addition of KoKusan ignition and a Bosch starter. This example has 15,000 miles and it’s claimed to be in excellent original condition with the original handbook included. The details on this bike are sparse, but it’s one of the nicer examples of the Dart that I’ve seen in a long, long time. Find this Dart for sale in Ellistown, England for $5,626
