Editor’s Note: A few days ago, Tom Wacker featured a DT250 that was in need of a restoration. Today, Ted Clough counters with a DT125 that’s ready to go!
The DT125 was offered by Yamaha from 1974-1980. It was a great entry-level bike for a lot of young, aspiring trail and off-road riders. A single cylinder 2-stroke, it was very manageable at only 251 pounds. Performance was limited, with only 13 HP at 7000 RPM, but by working the 5 speed gearbox it do most anything a 250 would, at a slightly slower pace…
This one looks to be in very good original condition, as a lot of these were abused over the years and left to rot in a barn or field. Everybody seems to want one of these old trail bikes these days, and they pop up regularly, but not in this condition. Better jump on this one quickly!
This 1975 Yamaha DT is listed in Loudon, Tennessee here on Craigslist for $1650.
