Never Started – 1976 Honda CR250M Elsinsore

In Japan, Off-Road by Abhi2 Comments

Named after the race in Lake Elsinore (which was made made famous by On Any Sunday, and is happening this weekend), the Honda CR250M was the first production MX bike and it was an instant classic.

This example (VIN: CR250M-3003414) is from the estate of Mike Owens, co-founder of the ‘Legends & Heroes of Motocross’ traveling motocross museum. Impressively, it was never started or ridden as the original owner felt hat the long-travel suspension would make the bike collectible. I guess this auction will prove him/her right or wrong?

Despite the lack of use, there’s some “museum-rash”, as the seller calls it. The front number plate is cracked and there’s minor scuffs and scrapes. The fork sliders also show some oxidation.
