Inspired by the Ducati 750 Sport, the SportClassic line was ahead of its time – and values of used examples are reflecting that now. I’ve recently wondered why Ducati hasn’t tried to bring something like this back (in addition to the rebirth of the Scrambler), but I guess the next best thing is a brand new example that’s never left the crate!
This is the Sport 1000, styled to look like a single-seat cafe racer and powered by the 1000DS engine. As a first year example, this Sport 1000 is a monoposto with a dry clutch (later bikes got a wet clutch and a passenger seat with cowl). For more on the Sport, check out this review from MCN, who call it the ‘best motorcycle on balance (and most wrist-breakingly painful)’ of the SportClassic line.
Not much to say about this example (VIN: ZDM1WABP76B005006), as it’s new in the crate. The crate itself has a small tear on the side, which is how the seller took a few photos inside the box. This bike features the amber with black stripe paint scheme and it includes all stock parts: 2 keys, 1 red key, key card, all paperwork, etc. Find this Sport 1000 for sale in Apex, North Carolina with bidding up to $14,000 and the reserve not yet met
BONUS: Or if you don’t mind a bike with some miles and would rather take some upgrades and the savings, here’s another 2006 amber/black Sport 1000 (VIN: ZDM1WANP56B001892):
It has 4,800 miles and it comes with Termi pipes, Ohlins rear shock, rebuilt front forks, and more. Find it for sale with bidding up to $5,400 and the reserve not yet met
