The seller of this well-loved BMW acquired it in July 2001 and then proceeded to ride it around the country. Per a sticker on the windshield, it looks like this R1150R has been to every state in the continental US and several Canadian provinces – based on that alone I’d have guessed the mileage was near 6 digits but there’s “only” 48k. Unfortunately, the owner no longer feels safe riding it as his knees have become weak and he wants someone else to keep this bike going.
This photo is from the day he picked it up!
Everything is claimed to work well and it has a stunning amount of modifications. Highlights include the OEM saddlebags with two out of the three lids (smallest and largest) that BMW offered with a quick change kit, BMW Police exhaust lowering kit (which allows for the full size case on the left), low and tall seats, passenger seat and optional cargo cover, touring windscreen, GS handguards, heated grips, Kaoko throttle lock, Hella driving lights, Kisan headlight modulator, multiple aftermarket horns, and a whole lot more. The tires need to be replaced and there’s some cosmetic wear. The valve covers have some scratches from “low & zero speed drops due to bad knees, which is why the seller is letting this bike go.
If you’re serious about this bike and want more photos, the seller has provided an album for you to peruse. Or, just go find this R1150R for sale in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for $3,950 here on ADVRider (registration required).
