Post-Sale Update: This CT-2 sold for $4,050 after 9 bids on eBay.
If I’m allowed to oversimplify for a bit, the CT-2 was basically a smaller version of the instant-classic DT-1. Packing 175ccs, “Torque Induction”, and nowadays, a healthy dose of nostalgia, this CT-2 was recently restored ‘to original specs’ so you’re hopefully having a trip down memory lane right now.
The CT-2 got a reed valve intake and Yamaha gave it the fancy name of “Torque Induction.” This bike was restored to be as close to NOS as possible, though the seller notes that there is minor pitting in some spots – the tach, speedo, and wheels. Everything is claimed to work and the odometer was reset. The original tires are included but the seller will install new tires if you want to ride this bike once you get it.
