Post Listing Update: Despite 54 bids up to $22,000, this CB750 did not meet reserve.

Claimed to be in “museum quality”, this sandcast CB750 was acquired by the seller 20 years ago from the Newman-Haas chief, who was the second owner. As you probably know, the first 7,414 CB750s were built from sandcast molds before Soichiro Honda switched to a more expensive metal mold because there was clearly enough demand to justify the investment.

The VIN number (CB7501004729) shows that this was about halfway through the sandcast run. It has 9,562 miles on the odometer and it looks to be in decent shape. Thanks to paperwork from the original owner, this is a well documented example. The seller is 75 and over the years he has ‘brought 30 750s and 12 400Fs back to life.’ He’s taken care of a lot of work on this bike and the listing is full of excellent detail. In his words, this bike is very “exciting to ride but scary because of its value.” Everything is said to work and there don’t seem to be any issues.
