Union Motorcycles Build – 1993 Ducati 900SS Custom

Post Sale Update: This custom Ducati sold for $19,100 after 42 bids on eBay.

Built at the beginning of the decade by Union Motorcycles (remember that they’re currently raffling off a lovely custom 60s Ducati 250), this custom 900SS was featured on several websites like Pipeburn before a collector in Carlsbad (who has owned some legends like a Cagiva 500 GP and the 8th Britten V1000) acquired it three years ago. Unfortunately, he needs to make room for some dirt bikes so that he can start riding with his kid, which means this custom is now up for sale, and it’s already met reserve with bidding under $7,000.

Union Cycles’ work included custom bodywork (the tank is especially cool, it combines the tanks from a 900SS and a late 80s 750 Sport), a modified subframe, and several bolt on goodies like the dual-clicker shock and Fast by Ferracci exhaust. This bike, which was dubbed “High Pipe”, was nice enough to get some purchase requests once it was made public. Initially, Union Motorcycles wasn’t interesting in selling so they created a sister bike called the Low Pipe for a buyer in Canada. The seller is clearly into cars as well and he says that if you come pick the bike up in person, he’ll throw in a ride in his Lamborghini Huracan Performante for fun.
