Post-Sale Update: After 21 bids on eBay, this Bimota Supermono sold for $8,500.
Ever looked at a BMW F650 Funduro and thought “I really hope an Italian company takes the engine out of that bike and makes a sportbike out of it?”. Turns out you weren’t the only one. The Bimota BB1 utilized the Rotax-developed 652cc thumper – an engine that was fine for a dual-sport but was a little underpowered for sportbike consumers of the time. You only got 48 horsepower, and vibrations were brutal. Top speed was supposedly 110 mph but acceleration was minimal after 90. Still, one can appreciate the idea of a super light, moderately powered bike. And with only 148 ever built (none officially imported to the US), you won’t get many chances to pick one up.
