The Gixxer has been a fixture in the sportbike world for decades, and Pops Yoshimura is famous for his involvement with Suzuki’s factory racing team. The two names have been closely intertwined for years, and one of the most recent collaborations is the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Yoshimura Limited Edition. Reader Zack B noticed at his local dealership when on a parts run and was kind enough to give us a heads up on it.
Just 45 of these bikes were produced (it seems that 15 were built in each displacement of 600/750/1000). You’ll get a custom paint scheme in black and red with gold pin striping, as well as a radiator logo and an “owners appreciation package” which includes a “carbon fiber pen-holder with their name and a matching Limited Edition Badge attached so they can daydream at work knowing they own a piece of history.” Kind of wishing I made that part up. Mechanical upgrades seem to be limited to a Yoshi pipe. If you want more information, check out Yoshimura’s official site on this bike.
This specific Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Yoshimura Limited Edition is brand new, so there’s not much to say about its history.
