Here’s one we’ve never heard of before – the Harley-Davidson FXSB Dealer Award, a limited run of just 55 models built as an award for dealers. This shovelhead displaces 1340cc, and it came in a lovely shade of “Candy Apple Rootbeer” that shines just right in sunlight. Have you been looking for the perfect rare Harley project? This might be the bike for you.
Our research struggled to turn up much on this bike, but the seller has a letter that seriously helps the credibility of his claims. It seems that the only upgrades for the Dealer Edition were cosmetic. Mechanically, this bike is just like the other 1983 FXSB lowriders, with a V-Twin that pumped out 57 horsepower at 5,200 RPM that had to handle a whopping 637 pounds of motorcycle. With a 4-speed gearbox, this bike was capable of 96 miles per hour, and hitting 60 mph in 6.2 seconds.
This specific Harley-Davidson FXSB Dealer Award, unfortunately, has some needs. It has some chrome pitting, and a couple of minor pieces are missing. It’s not 100% original, which truly hurts the value of a bike like this. The seller might have missed that memo, though, as he’s asking for some serious money for a 30 year old Harley. It’s been sitting for 15 years, so it will need a little bit of work, but if you’re looking for a rare Harley, it’s tough to start with a better base than this.
Find this Harley-Davidson FXSB Dealer Award for sale here on eBay with a BIN price of $10,000 in Belvidere, New Jersey. We’d try to see if the seller is willing to negotiate, first.
