The SB8R was Bimota’s usual level of fancy – a trick frame and top-notch components wrapped around a Suzuki TL-R motor. But the SB8RS (the extra S was for “Special”) took it to another level with a full carbon fiber fairing, black wheels, carbon fiber shift rod, Ergal engine screws, and gold-anodized rearsets/rear sprocket.
Other goodies found on the regular SB8R included 17-inch cast aluminum Antera wheels, 46mm USD Paioli forks, Ohlins shock, and Brembo brakes. At the end of the day, the SB8RS was 50 pounds lighter than the Suzuki TL1000R!
This example (VIN: ZESSB8S03YR000029) stands out as it has just 1 mile on the odometer. But unlike most 1-mile bikes, this SB8RS is a runner! The original owner bought it, had it recrated, and then kept it in his warehouse in Pennsylvania. It sat there until last year, when he had a broker send it to us to sell. We tried it on the auction site last year and it didn’t meet reserve, so we thought it’d be fun to have one of our techs bring it back to life and try it again. We’ll see how that goes…
It is offered with the MSO as it has never been titled or registered. The MSO was assigned to Moto Point in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The sale includes the warranty book, owner’s manual, gold rearsets, mirrors, Ohlins shock wrench, leather key chain, and tool kit.
