30 years after the movie Easy Rider was released, Panzer USA built an unauthorized replica of the iconic Captain America (doing a much better job than endorsed-by-Fonda CMC replica, though there are still plenty of discrepancies). 150 were built, and this is number 47.
These bikes were hand assembled and featured a 90 cubic inch ‘Neo Pan’ engine (too modern for some tastes, S&S cylinders/pistons/rods/cases/wheels/carb, Mallory ignition, Paughco pipes, RevTech transmission, and more. For more on the Panzer replicas, check out this article from Street Chopper.
This example is claimed to be a daily rider that won 1st place at the Easyriders Bike Show in Charlotte 2013 and was featured in Easyriders magazine (NSFW) in February 2014. The seller says it is showroom clean but it ‘needs little’. Find this Captain America replica for sale in Fayetteville, North Carolina for $18,000 here on Craigslist.
BONUS TIME: If you’re really into the Captain America, I just heard from Paul d’Orleans (the man behind The Vintagent and Co-Host/Judge of the Motorcycle Film Festival) that the MFF is going to have Cliff Vaughs and Larry Marcus at the event this year – they were the builders of the original Captain America and apparently Cliff has never seen the film before!
