The Ducati 848 Nicky Hayden Edition is one of the very, very few Ducatis that was exclusive to the United States. Built to honor Nicky Hayden, one of Ducati’s MotoGP riders, this bike celebrates Nicky’s American heritage with the red-white-and-blue theme. This exact paint scheme was actually used at both American MotoGP races (Laguna Seca and Indy) on Ducati’s 2010 MotoGP race bike.
As many of the limited edition Ducatis, the differences here are just cosmtic. Mechanically, the Hayden Edition is the exact same as a standard 848 – but that still got you a wonderful bike. Though it has the same frame of the bigger 1198, this bike weighed 11 pounds less and got a wet clutch as opposed to the usual Ducati dry clutch. Both those features make this bike easier to ride – and that translates to more fun for riders not necessarily blessed with Nicky’s talents behind the bars. This bike is being offered by the second owner. It has 10,200 miles, a carbon fiber Termi exhaust, and a 14 tooth front sprocket.
