Post Sale Update: This Bol d’Or sold to Bike-urious reader George G!
Normally, companies bust out special editions to commemorate milestones like high production numbers or race victory. Aprilia went a different route with the Bol D’Or, which was built to commemorate their participation in…the Bol D’Or, a 24 hour endurance race that occurs every spring at Le Mans. 200 examples were built between 2007-2008.
Stock from the factory, this Aprilia Bol D’Or came well equipped, with Ohlins front forks, a slipper clutch, Brembo calipers. With that said, it was basically a stock RSV-R. The main difference is the paint job, which comes with a dash of purple, a rare color on motorcycles.
The seller has had the bike for less than a year, putting on approximately 500 of the odometer’s 10,146 miles. He wanted to relive his youth but he realized that his “42 year old back and knees just can’t do the race bike thing anymore”. The only modification is an Akrapovič slipon exhaust.
