I’ve mentioned this a couple of times before, but my favorite bikes to share on Bike-urious are the ones I’ve never heard of before. So here’s another one I enjoyed researching – the Husky NOX. It’s basically a supermoto race bike with the bare minimum that the feds required for a motorcycle to be street legal, and just from looking at specs and photos, I’m convinced that this would be more fun that I deserve. Someone please buy this so that I don’t.
Just 300 examples of the NOX were built, and depending on who you ask, 14-15 were originally imported to the US. It debuted at the 2000 Intermot show in Germany and it caught a disproportionate amount of eyeballs thanks to the carbon fiber bodywork and a sprinkling of exotic blue-anodized aluminum and titanium. Interestingly, Husky sold these bikes directly via the internet. In general it seems that most sold around the $14k/$15k price point, but I can’t find any concrete evidence of that. A Cycle World review in 2002 said the price was $9,050. They also said that it puts out 56 horsepower, 40 pound-feet of torque, and that it weighs 249 pounds. That was 15 years ago!
This example has 3,400 miles and it’s said to be completely stock. Everything is said to work and the seller claims it’s in “excellent condition.” I will be very, very jealous of the crazy person that buys this. Have fun with the maintenance schedule! Find this Husqvarna NOX for sale here on Craigslist for $6,500 in Los Altos, California.
