Only built for 1 year (mostly sold in the US), the Triumph TR5AR is a very rare bike. A 500cc Tiger unit-construction model, you could consider this bike to be a smaller version of the Trophy. According to Ian Falloon, one year later the TR5AR had evolved into the T100SS.
This bike was apparently named the “Road Sports Trophy”, and for the first half of the production year it featured the ‘love it or hate it’ ET ignition, 19″ front wheel and 18″ rear, and twin low exhausts. This example was restored by HCV Motorsports after it was brought in to thet shop in boxes. After 100 miles of shakedown runs, it’s now ready for a new owner.
