As a child of the 80s, I believe this Kawasaki Ninja GPZ900R checks all the right boxes. It was an instant classic that also got some love as a star in Top Gun.
Produced from 1984 to 2003, it was the first bike to bear the “Ninja” name. A revolutionary design when it came out, some would argue that it was the predecessor of what we consider today to be a modern sport bike. It was the first 16 valve liquid cooled inline four, something the competition would take years to catch up on. The engine produced 115 horsepower, good for a top seed of 151 miles per hour – it was the first production road bike to top 150. Nowadays these numbers might seem tame, but this bike was an instant legend when it was released. The cameo in Top Gun didn’t hurt, either.
This specific Kawasaki Ninja GPZ900R (VIN: JKAZX2A18EB500676) has just 1,090 miles. It was apparently bought by the owner of a motorcycle equipment company and was put into storage after the limited mileage. It’s all original with the exception of the color-matched Corbin seat and even still has the break-in sticker on the tachometer. It’s been fully detailed, the tank has been cleaned, the fuel lines have been replaced, and it has a new battery. It has been started but it hasn’t been ridden and the seller suggests that you check the brakes and replace the original tires before you take it for a spin.
