The first time I met Bike-urious reader Glen Irani, he let me take his Ducati Hypermotard 1100S out for a spin – I’ve been in love with the air-cooled model ever since. They’re incredibly fun to ride, which is why it’s surprising to see one with just 152 miles on it.
As its name suggests, the 1100 is powered by the Ducati’s venerable air-cooled, fuel-injected, two-valve-per-cylinder, desmo V-Twin. Now displacing 1078cc, up from 992cc, the engine produces a claimed 90 horsepower and 76 foot-pounds of torque. Dry weight is said to be 390 pounds. This S version includes standard diamond-like carbon fork coating, reservoir-equipped Öhlins shock, monobloc Brembo brake calipers, and red-pinstriped forged Marchesini wheels.
This example (VIN: ZDM1YACP08B005554) is said to be like new with just two modifications: a Ducati Performance seat and a full Termignoni exhaust. The asking price is quite steep but I haven’t seen one with this kind of mileage in a long time. We’ll see what the market thinks it’s worth…
Find this Hyper for sale in West Glacier, Montana with a BIN of $59,995 (I guess he really didn’t want it to be $60k) here on eBay.
