The BMW R63 was one of the German firm’s first 750cc bikes – the R63 was the sport model compared to the touring R62. It introduced the concept of electric lighting as standard, but this bike actually gained acclaim when Ernst Henne rode a supercharged version to 133.8 miles per hour, giving BMW its first motorcycle speed record.
On the other hand, non-modified bikes were good for about 75 miles per hour, and just 800 of those were built. One of the authorities on all things vintage motorcycle, Paul D’Orleans, owned one of these (thought his might have been a poor example of the breed and he found it disappointing).
This specific BMW R63 is in excellent condition thanks to an Evan Bell restoration.
Find this BMW R63 for sale here at Bator International in Ojai, California for a staggering $107,500.
