Post Sale Update: This Victoria sold for the BIN of $36,000 on eBay.
The German motorcycle manufacturer Victoria released their first model (the KR1) in 1920 with a 494cc BMW boxer twin. New models were launched frequently, and in 1933 they released the KR8 with a 500cc parallel twin of their own design. Just under 550 were built in 1934, and this one stands out as it’s an ex-military unit.
The seller claims that “based on extensive research, this unit is the only known surviving KR8 military model.” It has spent the last six decades at Joe McClain’s Historical Military Armor Museum, which closed in 2018 and auctioned off its contents. The seller then brought it back it to life with ~2,500 hours of “careful research and restoration efforts”, and he claims that 85% of the parts are original.
