1936 Ariel Colt

In England, Standard by AbhiLeave a Comment

In honor of the BSAOCSC All British Run this Sunday, today I’m going to feature a few classic British motorcycles. Here we’ve got an Ariel Colt, a simple 250cc OHV single.

Ariel Colt - Front Right

Most people associate Ariel with either the Red Hunter or the Square Four, but the Colt was a very light bike (weighing about 250 pounds) that was capable of hitting approximately 70 miles per hour. The 4-speed transmission has the shifter on the right side, with a one-up, three-down pattern.

Ariel Colt - Rear

This specific Ariel Colt is complete and running, though mileage is unknown. The seller suggests that it’d be a good basis for an easy restoration, whereas I hope it stays as a survivor. The oil pressure gauge and ammeter need to be hooked up, but it’s been recently serviced and the carb was rebuilt.

Ariel Colt - Right Side

Find this Ariel Colt for sale in San Clemente, California with bidding up to $4,600 and the reserve not yet met

Or find it directly for sale from the dealership’s site here at Montgomery Motors for $7,250.
