7-28-21 Update: 17 months later, this Zundapp is up for sale again. Based on the photos and the fact that it’s for sale in the same city, I’m guessing the original sale did not go through. Find it with bidding up to $2,125 with the reserve already met here on eBay.
Post Sale Update: This Zundapp sold for $4,276 after 29 bids on eBay in Simi Valley, California.
The lightest model in Zundapp’s lineup, the DB200 was marketed as a cheap runabout that also made for a popular military mount.
This model features a 198cc two-stroke single that produces 7 horsepower, good for a claimed top speed of approximately 50 miles per hour. For more specifications, check out this site dedicated to Zundapps.
This example (VIN: 717657) was “found in a large estate of military collectibles”. It’s offered in running condition but it does not have paperwork. The seller claims that it “appears to be 90% original or more” with a few dents and dings, as well as a ‘desert tan’ repaint. Though the engine starts and runs, this will need more work before it is roadworthy as there are some fuel/oil leaks and the front inner tube needs to be replaced.
