FN is certainly well known for it’s guns and ammunition manufacturing, but it also made high quality motorcycles from 1901 to 1967. FN didn’t just make motorcycles, they raced them right from the start with notable success at Isle of Mann and European Motocross championships.
The 1949 M 13 was powered by a side valve 344 cc single cylinder motor. Obviously built for military applications, the bike was a workhorse for the Belgian army. It featured a “Rubber Band” front and rear suspension that was so constructed to take the shocks of the road in a replaceable “rubber band”.
