1953 Norton Dominator Model 88

In England, Standard by Abhi2 Comments

Built to challenge Triumph’s Speed Twin, the Norton Dominator had several variations over its 15 year run. One of of the most influential ‘Dommies’ was the Model 88.

The 88 took Norton’s 500cc vertical twin and then put it in the instant classic Featherbed frame. The frame was incredibly rigid and helped contribute to racing success on and even off the track. Unfortunately, the 200 Model 88s that were being built each week suffered from rather poor quality control.
