Post Sale Update: This RE/Indian sold for $4,850 after 29 bids on eBay.
The Indian Tomahawk was a result of the odd marriage between Royal Enfield and Indian. The Indian marque was owned by an English firm called Brockhouse Engineering, and during this time, they imported Royal Enfield bikes under the Indian name.
Built between ’55-’59, the Tomahawk had the engine specifications (500cc) from a Meteor Minor with 19 inch wheels.
This specific Indian Tomahawk has been off the road for nearly 40 years, but it comes with the universal sentence that means nothing “ran when parked.” While it’s in decent cosmetic shape, this bike will need a bit of work. The odometer shows just 3,783 miles and there’s a small dent in the gas tank.
