The successor to the WR and the last of Harley’s side-valve racers, the KR750 was built between ’52 and ’68. A race bike that you could buy straight from the dealer and then tweak to your needs, the KR might have been relatively low-tech even for the time, but it won the AMA Grand National Championship series 12 out of the first 13 years. This example competed in the Daytona 200 from ’58-’60, with a best finish of 10th in ’59.
This bike is being offered by the 4th owner – he notes that the “engine was replaced after he [Jake] blew the engine on the first lap of the 1960 Daytona 200. A replacement engine was restamped by Jake.” It’s claimed to run great but the “carb needs to be adjusted for top end.”
