Built between 1954 and 1962, the Cardellino (Italian for Goldfinch) was the successor to the Guzzino. Initially, it had a 65cc motor but in 1957 Guzzi bored out the motor to 73cc. Other changes in ’57 included a change from hand shifter to foot shifter and the inclusion of a horn.
The 73cc bike was offered in two versions: Turismo and Lusso. The motor was capable of production 2.6 horsepower, enough to get the little bike up to 38 miles per hour, eventually. In one of the photos, the seller shows a few of his bikes in a garage. I could help but notice the Harley in the back with the “USN” lettering on the tank – it looked familiar as I’ve featured it in the past.
Per the seller, this bike “is beautiful but not something you want to put in a museum.” He says it starts on the first kick and that the transmission and brakes work as they should. Find this Moto Guzzi for sale in Walnut, California with bidding up to $1,025 and the reserve not yet met
