Zundapp was able to sell about 130,000 examples of the Bella scooter between 1953 and 1964. Engine options were a 150 (146) or 200 (198) – here’s an original example of the latter.
The bigger engine wasn’t introduced until May of 1954. It was good for 10 horsepower. Other improvements over the model run include a 12 volt electrical system and a one-sided leading link fork (which replaced telescopic units).
The seller of this example (VIN: R108648) calls it a “museum quality correct nut and bolt restoration” and says that “you will not find a nicer one.” He/she adds that it “is painted in the correct factory color weinrot (wine-red) and that there are less than 20 miles ridden on this museum quality restoration. The motor was rebuilt completely with a new overbore piston.”
