Originally introduced as a 250cc model, the MV Agusta Raid 300 brought an increase in displacement as well as new fenders, tank, and exhaust to make it an even better long distance mount.
The Raid is much larger than other MV Agusta singles of the time, but this did not translate to commercial success. The engine was good for 14 horsepower, enough for a top speed of 70 mph. A telescoping front fork was paired with dual shocks in the rear to help with a comfortable ride. MV Agusta tried to enter the public sector with this bike but had zero success with police forces and limited success with the military. You can occasionally find a military version with the classic olive green paint job.
This specific MV Agusta Raid 300 was restored years ago and the seller says the restoration is still a 9 out of 10. Flaws are limited to a non-functioning speedo and leaking petcocks when the gas tank is full.
