Built just between November 1960 and October 1961, the Norton Manxman is a rare bike (seems that only 654 were built) that was built for export only – most came to the US, though another significant chunk went to Australia.
All Manxmans were in a gorgeous blue with red seat/white piping. It also got plenty of chrome plating and a special exhaust system unique to the model. The 650cc twin produced 52 horsepower, sufficient to get the bike up to over 120 miles per hour.
This Manxman is claimed to have been recently “restored to original color and configuration”, though people who know more than I do about this rarity note that there are some problems: missing kick start rubber and tach cable, the silencer mounts aren’t correct and that the bike is missing a steel plate which covers the space on the back of the gearbox.
Find this Norton Manxman for sale here on Craigslist in New York for $15,000.
