1961 NSU Super Max

After World War II, NSU found themselves with factories that had been destroyed. But they were able to persevere and in 1952 they released the Max, one of the most popular quarter-liter bikes of the 50s – 97,120 bikes were sold. Fast forward four years and NSU introduced the Supermax, which featured a 18 horsepower single good for a top speed of 78 miles per hour.

This example has just 3,500 miles and is being offered by someone who owns over 20 NSUs (including the NSU that was used at the famous Art of the Motorcycle Show. Back to this bike – it’s claimed to be 100% original and though the air box and tail light aren’t on in the pictures, they are now on the bike. Find it for sale in Schenectady, New York for $7,500 here on Craigslist.
