Founded in 1922, Tohatsu is now best known for their outboard motors. But in the 50s and 60s, they produced some excellent two-stroke bikes like this Runpet, also known as the CA-2.
This example runs and it has the original key, but the cosmetics have seen better days. Surface rust and chrome pitting are plentiful, it’s missing the headlight, the tailight isn’t stock, and I’m not sure where the exhaust is from – I haven’t seen a scrambler pipe on any other example. Still, these rarely come up for sale, so it might be a great start for someone who’s into obscure Japanese classics?
