I’ve only had the pleasure of featuring one other Pointer in the past – the 90cc Super Lassie. Here’s the 155cc top of the line model, the Comet. Pointer was the American name of the Japanese company Shin Meiwa, a Japanese aircraft manufacturer that decided to get into the motorcycle game. They produced bikes between 1946 and 1964, meaning this should be one of the last ones they built (except the seller says this maybe actually be a ’61 or ’62, even though the title says 1964).
The Comet came equipped with an electric starter, 12V electrical system, Neidhalt suspension, rotary transmission, and a two-stroke engine that produced 11 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. This example is claimed to run and ride, though a broken “fuel bowl” (I assume the seller is referring to the float bowl?) has been bypassed. There’s a couple of minor cosmetic issues but the original manual, title, and tool kit are included in the sale.
Find this Pointer Comet for sale in Hershey, Pennsylvania with an opening bid of $500 and the reserve not yet met
